Col S.S. Singh, SM, FRGS.

Served the Indian Army for over 36 years. During his tenure, he was awarded 4 Medals for Gallantry. As a Chief Instructor of High Altitude Warfare, he was recognized by the Royal Geographical Society in the UK and served as a guest instructor to National Climbing Institutions. Col Singh has led 25 major National & International Expeditions that include 14 of the highest peaks in the Himalayas. He holds the world record for the longest ski run from 23,410 feet down Mt. Trishul and has many other credits to his mountaineering career. Col Singh has been in the Travel Trade for over 25 years as Founder of Eco Adventures which is the leading Indian adventures company and awarded Best by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. 

He served 35 years with Indian army, reached highest rank to General  Also received highest army award PVSM by president of India  He is past president of Indian Rheumatology Association  He published many papers & current editor of Indian manual of rheumatology: Lt Gen Ved Chaturvedi, was the Director General Medical Services (DGMS) of the entire Army with about 13 lac strength. Responsible for total medical facilities in the Army.     

Is a science and law graduate before joining the Army in 1970. He was adjudged as the Best Young Officer in Infantry in 1972 at Infantry School ,Belgaum. Having served for about 11yrs in eighth 8th Gorkha Rifles, he was laterally inducted into JUDGE ADVOCATE GENERAL ( JAG) Department, being a law graduate and having cleared the JAG DEPTT's entrance Exam. Served as JAG Officer for 28 yrs and retired as Brigadier in 2008. He has served in the rank of  Brigadier  for 13 yrs as head of Army Judiciary in all Army Commands. In his long chequered career spanning about 38yrs he has been awarded twice with Chief of Army's Commendation, four times Army Commander's Commendation and finally decorated by the President of India with Visishta Seva Medal (VSM) for rendering dedicated service to the country. During his service, he drafted Armed Forces Tribunal (AFT) Act. After superannuation, he is practicing law in Supreme Court and AFT.
